Merton Dungerow
Merton C. Dungerow, 83, passed away July 29, 2006 at home in Easley, South Carolina.
Mert was born May 16, 1923 in Holly, Michigan to the late Clayton and Bertha (Hadden) Dungerow. Mert was a member of the West End Baptist Church in South Carolina and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0052. He was a World War II four-year veteran serving in the invasion of North Africa and Italy. Mert retired as a licensed contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Door) Dungerow; daughters, Cathy (Jason) Scharich of Beaverton, Patti (Lou) Browne of Brooksville, Florida, Sue Rutter of Harrison, Jeannie Criger of Avoca, Michigan, Peggy (Joe) Scola of Harrison Township, and Connie Belcher of Sterling Heights; 16 grandchildren and 35 Greatgrandchildren; sisters, Helen Spicer of Lyons, Marian Aldridge of Birch run, and Norma (Larry) Hoffman of Flushing. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Clayton Dungerow; and brothers and sisters, Dorothy Kimmery, Lewis, Myrtie Belle, and Nora and Roy Dungerow.
A memorial service will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3655 Albright Shores, 1380 Estey Road in Beaverton on Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. His family will dearly miss him.
