Robert Downer
Robert E. Downer, 73, of Gladwin, died Nov. 10, 2005 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home following a long illness.
He was born Aug. 2, 1932 in Detroit to Gerald and Ruth (Ball) Downer. He was a tool and die maker at Opticware Cocoa, Florida. He resided in Gladwin County since 1972, having previously resided in Sterling Heights. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2650 of Murritt Island, Florida and Secord Lake Eagles Aerie 4121. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
Surviving are his children, Cheryl (Edward) Borkowski of Flushing, Gerald Downer of Gladwin, Paul Downer of Holland, DeAnn (Kenny) Coan of Gladwin, and Millie Nelson of Kannapolis, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Kenny and Shannan; four sisters, Lucille Heinrich of St. Clair Shores, Geraldine Peabody of Clinton Township, Betty Benoit of Clinton Township and Nancy Mugler of Wellston; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements were made by Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin.
