Matthew Dowling
Matthew D. Dowling, 59, of 4148 Martin Rd., Beaverton, died Monday, Jan. 7, in the Midland Hospital Center following a long
illness.
Born in Keyser, W. Va., Nov. 24, 1925, he came to Gladwin County 29 years ago from Detroit. He was a tool maker for Fisher
Body in Detroit. Mr. Dowling served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Gladwin County VFW 7303, the
Albright Shores Ealges [sic. Eagles] Club and the Sanford American Legion Post 443.
Mr. Dowling and the former Regina Pellerzi were married Aug. 12, 1950, in Cumberland, Md.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Patrick of Bellingham, Wash. And Dean of Beaverton; one daughter, Mrs. Keith
(LeeAnn) Matthews of Gladwin; one sister, Mrs. LeeAnn Callis of Cumberland, Md.; and 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Deacon Harry Mailley will
officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
