Frank Dow
FRANK DOW---Frank Dow was born in Grout township,
Gladwin county, June 2, 1871, and met his death form
accidental explosion of a gun while hunting, Dec. 11,
1918, at the age of 47 years. He had been a resident
of Gladwin county all his life, except during two
year's service as a United States soldier in the
Philippine Islands, being a member of Co. A, 43rd
Mich. Volunteers. He leaves to mourn his loss besides
his wife Daisy and 12 year-old daughter, Helen Mae,
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.R. Dow of Pratt's lake,
two brothers, Herbert L. of Bad Axe, Mich., and Fred
F. of Cleveland, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Lelia
Haines of Jackson, Mich., all of whom were present at
the funeral.
The funeral services were held at the home at
Pratt's lake, Sunday morning, Dec. 15, conducted by
the Rev. J. H. Cornelius. Burial in Grout cemetery.
