Lavere Doan
LAVERE DOAN
Lavere C. Doan, 58, of 2398 Long Rd., Beaverton,
died suddenly Saturday, March 20. Born in Secord
Township December 26, 1923, he attended the Elm Grove
School. Mr. Doan was an operating engineer in road
construction and served in the Army during World War
II and the Korean conflict. He was married August 28,
1971, in Bentley to Diane Bennett.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 daughters,
Mrs. Lon (Fonda) Ricky and Melody Doan of Gladwin,
Lori Doan of Homestead Air Force Base, Fla, and Dianna
Doan of Beaverton; 3 sons, Elmer of Park City, Mont.,
Dale of Glen Dive, Mont. and Gregory of Texas; 4
sisters, Mrs. Irene Humphrey of Sebastin, Fla., Mrs.
Esther Thomas and Mary Doan of Gladwin and Mrs. Alta
Lewis of Hartland; one brother, Dale of Gladwin; 7
half brothers, Ted, Ken and Ai Doan of Gladwin, Frank,
Don, Jim and Tom Doan of Texas; 6 half sisters, Mrs.
Edel Erway of Michigan, Mrs. Viola Cox of Florida,
Mrs. Anna Ball of Pinckney, Mrs. Leota Subolski of
Bentley, Mrs Sandra Kraus of Sterling and Mrs. Joyce
Thomas of Gladwin; and 2 granddaughters.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from
the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Clarence Moore
officiated and burial was in the Arbutus Cemetery..
