Joseph Doan
JOSEPH DOAN, FORMER SHERIDAN SUPERVISOR, DIES
Joseph Doan, 69, Sheridan township farmer, died on
Monday morning, Oct. 28 after an illness of two weeks.
He was born in Sanilac county on April 19, 1888, and
had ben a Gladwin county resident for 60 years. Mr.
Doan served as supervisor of Sheridan for many years.
On March 17, 1934 he was married to the former Miss
Myrtle Card in West Branch.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; ten daughters,
Mrs. Floyd Umphrey, Florida, Mrs. Alta Dallas,
Standish, Mrs. Idell Erway, of Flint, Mrs. Ester Loar,
and Miss Mary Doan, of Pinckney, Anna, Viola, Leota,
Sandra, and Joyce, all at home; 12 sons, Herman and
Francis, of Ann Arbor, John and Dale, of Flint, Lavere
of Bay City, James and Thomas, of Gladwin, Ai, Allen,
Donald, Kenneth and Ted, all at home; and 16
grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on
Thursday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home,
the Rev. Henry C. Hall officiating. Burial will be in
Edwards cemetery.
