Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Cecelia Diffin

   Cecelia Marjorie Diffin, 75, of Gladwin passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at home.

   Cecelia was born to Leslie and Wilhelmina (Osborne) Short July 15, 1930. She married Robert Russell Diffin March 12, 1949. They moved to Flint where Cecelia managed Bill Knapps restaurant on Pierson Road for several years.

   “Russ” and “Celia” moved to Gladwin in 1974. She worked at Forward in West Branch for many years as a waitress. She loved bowling and playing euchre with family and friends. She was an active member of the Secord Lake Eagles where she was president for two years. Survivors include her significant other, Harry Gedney of Gladwin; children, Leslie R. (Debbie) Diffin, Marsha M. (Jim) Raleigh, Donna K. (Jim) Dillon, Michael A. (Rhonda) Diffin, and Terry L. (Nick) Zettel; grandchildren, Les (Jan) Diffin, Matthew (Natalie) Diffin, Sarah (Ryan) Shipley, Scott (Allison) Diffin, Kelly (Janet) Raleigh, Mark (Claudia) Raleigh, Jacob Raleigh, Gregory (Rebecca) Johnson, Drew Dillon, Jason Dillon, Alisa Diffin, Cameron Zettel, Dillon Zettel, and Breanna Zettel; and greatgrandchildren, Haley and Kaleb Searfoss, Jackson Diffin, and Justin, Kendrick and Nicole Raleigh.

   She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Russell Diffin; her parents, Leslie and Wilhelmina “Mina” Short; and her brother, Clifford Short.

   A memorial dinner was provided by the Secord Lake Eagles with Chaplin Diane Pigula officiating. A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. May 6 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Long Lake.
