Jacob Dietsch

Jacob Paul Dietsch, 1, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. A welcome addition to his family, he was born in Clare on March 26, 2004 to Don and Cindy Dietsch of Coleman. Jacob will be missed forever by them and by his brothers Joey and James who lovingly called their little brother "Jakey."

He was loved by his parents, who spent hours with him and involved him in all of their family activities. Jacob was a happy child, quick to smile and even quicker to laugh when his brothers would tickle and play with him. In the summer, he loved spending time with his family in their swimming pool. He enjoyed the family dogs, cats, goat and chickens. His parents take some comfort in the thought that in his short time here, they celebrated two Easters with him.

In addition to his immediate family, Jacob is survived by grandparents, William and Sharon Dietsch of Vicksburg and R. Frank and Mary Veldt of Three Rivers; and paternal Great-grandfather Don, better known as Johnny (Kathleen) Dietsch and the late WillaGene Dietsch of Findlay, Ohio; uncles, Andrew (Staci) Veldt of Saugatuck and Douglas (Lee) Dietsch of Kalamazoo; and cousins, Erik Novak and Nina Veldt. He was preceded in death by his aunt Debbie Dietsch Novak, several great aunts and great uncles and distant cousins.

Private funeral services were held April 4, 2005 at Stephenson-Wyman Funeral home in Clare and presided over by the Reverend Tim Terhune of Faith Bible Church in Livonia. Pallbearers were family friends, Loren McLaughlin of Gladwin and Doug Gunn of Newark, Ohio. Internment was at the Wise Township Cemetary.

Although each pregnancy was very difficult, Don and Cindy eagerly planned for and welcomed their third child. It is their desire to honor Jacob by purchasing toys for children to use to pass the time in the maternity waiting room at the hospital where he was born. Memorial donations can be made to the Jacob Dietsch Memorial Fund at Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center in Clare.
