Francis Dicken
Francis L. Dicken, 92, of Gladwin, Michigan died March 24, 2005 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home. He was born April 3, 1912 in Toledo, Ohio to Earl and Leah (Brubaker) Dicken. He married the former Edna Colbeck in Beaverton on May 19, 1935; she died in 2002.
Mr. Dicken worked at Ford Motor Company, River Rouge Plant from 1935 to 1946. He was a Lab Technician at Dow Chemical in Midland, retiring in 1975 after 25 years, and was also a lifetime farmer. He lived in Gladwin County most of his life and was a member of Gladwin Niters F.C.R.V. Chapter 17 and the Gladwin School Board.
Surviving are his children, Gail (Chum) Molesworth, Frances (Sharron) Walcutt, and Lana (Jim) Willford, all of Gladwin, Tim Dicken (Jane Fortner-Dicken), and Jill (Dave) Harmon, both of Beaverton, and Jean (Denny) Cameron of Gladwin; 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife Edna; daughter Elsie Dicken; sister Helen Hopkins; brothers Charles Dicken, Clarence Dicken, Tom Dicken and Walter Stroman.
A funeral service was held March 26 at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin, with Connie Mercer officiating. Burial took place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy..
