BERNARD DEVILLE


  Bernard S. DeVille, 60, of 4997 Beech Rd., Billings Township, died Friday, Nov. 6, in St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, after a short illness. Born in Muskegon July 4, 1927, he moved to Gladwin County in 1974 from Flint. Mr. DeVille was a set-up man for Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant in Flint until he retired in 1975 after 30 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303, Am-Vets of Gladwin County, Billings Township Citizens Watch, Gladwin County Historical Society, Gladwin County Red Cross, UAW Local 659 Flint and the Billings Senior Citizens Club. He was an active Citizen Band radio operator. Mr. DeVille and the former Doris Landis were married Dec. 22, 1951, in Flint.

  Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter Colette, at home; one son, Timothy of California; 2 brothers, Charles of Muskegon and Raymond of Chesaning; 2 sisters, Mary Stafford of Muskegon and Christine Fenner of Flint.

  Rites were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Ed Abbott officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery.
