Viola Demaray
Mrs. Viola Demaray, 79, of 333 South Silverleaf St., Gladwin, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Midland Hospital Center
following an illness of three months.
Born in King George Country, Va., on May 14, 1899, she came to Gladwin County in 1918. She was a member of the Gladwin Church
of Christ.
The former Viola Jenkins, she was married to Ralph Kiggins on March 5, 1919, in Alexandria, Va. He preceded her in death on
October 22, 1943. Mrs. Kiggins married Fred Demaray on November 1, 1947, and he died on September 27, 1965.
Surviving are 2 sons, Vaughan Kiggins of Linwood and Bill Kiggins of Essexville; 2 step-sons, Ray and Virgil Demaray of
Gladwin; 5 step-daughters, Mrs. Neva Mielke of Clare, Mrs. Gladys Carper of Saginaw, Mrs. Virgilene Bruner of Hale, Mrs.
Verna Mae Wade of Flint and Rose Mary Anderson of Gladwin; and 5 grandchildren.
Services were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Gladwin Church of Christ. Marvin Wellsted, evangelist, officiated and burial was
in the Highland Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home.
