CFrank Demaray
Frank Demaray, 101, of Houghton Lake, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1992, in the
King Nursin Home after a long illness. Born in Gladwin, Feb. 11, 1891, he moved to Houghton
Lake 5 years ago. Mr. Demaray was a butcher and last worked at Palmer's Market in Gladwin in
1962. He was a life member of the Beaverton Masonic Lodge 453. Mr. Demaray was married to the
former Mary Bollert in 1913 in Gladwin. She died in 1927. He then married Ellen (Frye) Shell
in 1955 in Gladwin. She preceded him in death in 1984.
Surviving are one son, Jack of Mason; 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Coralee) Roof of Houghton
Lake and Mrs. Frances Barnett of Winter Park, Fla; 2 step-sons, William Shell of Holiday, Fla.
and Robert Shell of Brooksville, Fla.; 3 step-daughters, Mrs. Lucille Shepherd and Mrs. Tresa
Pangborn of Midland and Mrs. Gladys Albee of Holiday, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren;
and 5 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James in 1925, a daughter,
Frances in 1979, a brother Fred and 2 sisters, Liddy Mawhorter and Lois Groat.
Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. A. E.
McFarland officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery.
