IVAN W. DAWLEY


  Ivan W. Dawley, 79, of Gladwin, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home in Gladwin after a long illness. Born July 19, 1918 in Hocking County, Ohio, he lived in Gladwin County since 1970 and previously lived in Ohio. Ivan married the former Esther Lehman, Nov. 2, 1935 in Logan, Ohio. He was retired as a pumper for Sun Oil Company. Ivan was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a life member of D.A.V., Inland Lakes, Michigan Post 39.

  Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Shirley L. and husband Donald Needham of Breckenridge, and Pauline E. and husband Marvin White of Beaverton; three sons, Charles W. and wife Nancy of Hemlock, Ivan Jr. and wife Anell of Gladwin, and Orville L. and wife Ann of Greenbush; one sister, Forrest Mae Matheny of Gladwin; 18 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Pat, Jan. 30, 1996.;

  Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel with VFW Post 7303 officiating. Burial was in Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. .
