Philander David
Philander David, 81, who died recently in Mulliken
following a residence of thirty-eight years in the
village, was well known Civil war veteran. Directly
after the war, in January, 1886 [1866] he was united
in marriage to Mary Davenport of Danby, Michigan. To
this union were born five children, George, Almond and
Carrie, who died in early childhood, and Iva and Maud.
Mrs. David departed this life August 18, 1908. The
following year he was united in marriage to Frances
Austin, of Grand Ledge, who died January 17, 1926. He
leaves two daughters, Mrs. Iva Strong and Mrs. Maud
Davis.
