Joseph Crystal
Joseph (Buck) Crystal, 60, of 1263 Borders Dr., Gladwin, died suddenly Saturday,
Nov. 3. Born in Rochester Nov. 1, 1924, he came to Gladwin County in 1976. He was a crane operator
for Underwood Sand and Gravel in Pontiac and retired in 1976 after 32 years. Mr. Crystal served in
the Army during World War II. He was married to the former Helen Hansen and she preceded him in
death July 16, 1983. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Charles (Wendy) Bittner of Staples, Minn, and
Shawnna Crystal of Gladwin; 2 brothers, Woodrow of Cadillac and Phillip of AuGres, 2 sisters, Mrs.
Ruth Parkin of Utica and Mrs. Gertie Rowley of Sterling Heights; a dear friend, Twylla Peterson of
Gladwin; and one grandson. Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin
Chapel. The Rev. Robert Brown officiated and burial was in the Skeels Cemetery.
