Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Victor H. Crook


   Victor H. Crook , age 77, died June 24, 2002 at his home in Beaverton, Michigan. He was born May 13, 1925 to Herbert and Hazel (Kipp) Crook in Hazel Park, Michigan. On July 10, 1979 he married Mary Atherton at Beaverton. Victor was Maintenance Technician for the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Virginia, retiring in 1963. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator for Grandsden in Edenville, Michigan, retiring in 1987. He had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1963, having previously lived in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a member of the Church of Daniel’s Band, the Fleet Reserve #358, Skidway Lake, and Albright Shores Eagles Aerie 3655.

  He is survived by his wife, Mary Crook; his son Alan (Gemey) Crook of Hawaii; his step children, Cindy (Tony) Peacock of Beaverton, Dennis (Sheryl) Doan of Gladwin, John (Trisa) Doan of Beaverton, and William (Marion) Doan of Tawas; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his brothers, Rev. Norris Crook of Lehigh Acres, Florida, and Frank Crook of Lakeworth, Florida; his sisters, Rachel Conner of Willard, Ohio, and Virginia Pietryzk of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, two step-children, and two grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Friday, June 28, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan, with Rev. Jim Hoggard officiating. Burial took place at Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. Special military rites were conducted by V.F.W. of Gladwin County..
