Saloma Cowell Davis
Services Held for Mrs. Soloma Davis

   Funeral services were held for Mrs. Saloma Cowell Davis, 84, today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Brethren in Beaverton. The Rev. G.W. Miller and Rev. Arthur Whisler officiated at the services. Burial was in Dale cemetery.

   Mrs. Davis died on Sunday, February 2, at the home of her grand-daughter, Mrs. Vern Stone, Route 2, Beaverton. A Gladwin county resident for 48 years, Mrs. Davis was born on Aug. 7, 1873, in Preston county, West Virginia. The former Miss Saloma McKimmy was married to David P. Cowell in Lenawee county in 1890. Mr. Cowell died on Jan 17, 1952. On Dec. 4, 1952, she was married to Henry Davis, who survives her.

   Other survivors are two sons, Ray of Gladwin and Perry of Clare; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ada Corbin, of Adrian; and three brothers, Theodore McKimmy of Beaverton, Fred McKimmy of Adrian and Alvin McKimmy of Toledo, Ohio.
