Wayne Couturier
Wayne Couturier, 73, of Beaverton, passed away at his home Aug. 14, 2007. He was born in Bay City on Oct. 20, 1933 to Joseph and Ruby (Killey) Couturier.
He was self-employed with Three “C’s” Construction in Beaverton. He was also a veteran of the United States Army National Guard.
He had lived in Gladwin County since 1964, previously residing in Bay City. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Wayne married the former Ellen Skym on April 6, 1968 in Beaverton.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Couturier of Beaverton; sons, Edwin (Nancy) Couturier of Coleman, Ronald (Lynda) Couturier of Midland, Joe (Patti) Couturier of Deltona, Florida, Jerry (Joni) Couturier of Bay City, and Richard (Deanna) Couturier of Gladwin; daughter, Jeanette (Reed) Hamblin of Logan, Utah; foster daughter, Donna (Jermey) Krenzke of Merrill; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Gail Gassman of Beaverton; mother-in-law, Melissa Skym of Midland; and former daughter-in-law, Myra Groves.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herman and Lewis; and his sisters, Margarite, Florence and Dormae.
Funeral services were held Aug. 17, 2007 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Midland with Bishop Dave Peterson officiating. He was laid to rest at Midland Memorial Garden in Midland. A military service was held Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Beaverton.
