Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Richard Cottrell Sr.

   Richard A. Cottrell, Sr. went home to be with his heavenly father on Nov. 3, 2006. He passed away at his home in Beaverton after a long illness.

   He was born April 13, 1940 to Earl and Pearl (Compau) Cottrell in Carrolton.

   He was a relief man General Motors Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw. He has lived in Gladwin County for the last 25 years, having previously resided in St. Charles.

   He was a member of Living Hope Assembly of God. Richard married Carol Beck on July 11, 1959 in Saginaw. He is survived by his wife, Carol Cottrell; two daughters, Dawn Cottrell, and Tracy (Daren) Burns; two sons, Richard Cottrell, Jr., and Duane Cottrell and Cheryl Oliver; grandchildren, Joshua, Amber, and Adam Burns; numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Noreen Newirth, and Eileen (Don) Manial; and best friends, Charles Elliott and Ken Judd. He is predeceased by his parents; and several brothers and sisters.

   Funeral services are Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Living Hope Assembly of God in Beaverton. Pastor Charles Sanders and Pastor Charles Drudge.

   Visitation is Nov. 8 from noon until the time of service at Living Hope Assembly of God. Memorial contributions Heartland Hospice, 1426 Straits Dr., Bay City, MI 48706.
