Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Velva Cornell

   Mrs. Velva Cornell, 58, of Parkway Beach, Gladwin, died Thursday, March 15, at Midland Hospital, following a short illness. Mrs. Cornell was born May 9, 1914 in Tobacco Township, Beaverton, the former Miss Velva Blades. A lifetime resident of the county, she was married to James J. Cornell October 16, 1937, in Tobacco Township. Mr. Cornell died February 20, preceding her in death by 22 days.

   Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Norman (Joyce) Geasler of Lake, Mrs. Leroy (Lois) Vande Vrede of Gladwin, Mrs. Gene (Ann) Muma of Saginaw, Mrs. Richard (Melody) Reid, and Miss Nancy Cornell, both of Gladwin; and two sons, Franklin and George, both of Gladwin; three sisters, Mrs. William (Violet) Rangler of Tecumseh, Mrs. Donald (Grace) Farrow of Clare County, Mrs. Raymond (Lois) Schaard of Beaverton; five brothers, Kenneth, William and Shirley, all of Beaverton, Forest of Midland and Duane of Gladwin; and 16 grandchildren. Two sons, Robert and Larry, are deceased.

   Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. F. E. Voller officiating at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin. Burial was in Dale Cemetery.
