Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Victor Collins

   Victor A. Collins, 81, of Beaverton passed away March 7, 2008 at Tender Care Nursing Home-Clare following a long illness.

   He was born in Flint on March 1, 1927 to Burwell and Dorleska (Graves) Collins.

   He retired as a laborer for the city of Midland in 1985. He had lived in Gladwin County for 20 years, previously residing in Midland. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 12075.

   Victor married Rose Mary (Gower) Collins on Jan. 30, 1957 in Flint.

   He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Collins of Beaverton; sons, Victor Dean Collins and Rodney (Victoria) Maxson, all of Beaverton; daughters, Corrine Arft of Beaverton and Darlene Tomczak of Midland; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard Collins of Augres and Bill Collins of Swartz Creek; sisters, Kathy Lorenze and Shirley Ashley, both of Vanderbilt, Kay Wise of Texas and Maida Wiley of Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one brother.

   According to the wishes of the family cremation will take place. Arrangements were made by Hall- Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin.
