Theodore Roosevelt Colbeck
Theodore R. (Ted) Colbeck, 87, of Sun Valley Manor, Saginaw, died Thursday,
July 7, in St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was born May 6, 1901, in Billings
Township. Mr. Colbeck was employed for 30 years by Grey Iron Foundry until retiring in 1968.
He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the West Michigan Ave. Methodist
Church, the Solar Lodge 592 F. & A.M., the Martha Washington Chapter 113 O.E.S., the White Shrine
of Jerusalem 34 and the American Legion.
Mr. Colbeck and the former Goldie Cochran were married in 1921. Besides his wife, he is
survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Elaine) Hirschman of Saginaw; 3 grandchildren and 6 great
grandchildren. Two brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Rites were held last Monday from
the W.L. Chase & Co. Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Richard Turner officiated and entombment was in Oakwood
Mausoleum.
