Galon Ralph Coats, 90, passed away Monday, May 16, 2005. The early days of WWI were uncer-tain times for many, but Dec. 1, 1914 was the beginning of a long, peaceful life for Galon Coats.

Mr. Coats’ life was well identified with a prayer that hung on his dining room wall: “God grant that I may live to fish, until my dying day, and when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, that in the Lord’s great landing net, and peacefully asleep, that in His mercy, I be judged big enough to keep!”.
