FREDERICK G. CLOSE
Frederick G. Close, 66, of Beaverton, died Friday, Aug. 16, 1996 at his home following a sudden illness. Born April 16, 1930 in Detroit, he resided in Gladwin County for one year since moving from Detroit. Mr. Close was employed as a truck driver for Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Detroit for 45 years until retiring in June 1995. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Albright Shores Eagles Aerie 3655. Mr. Close married the former Joyce Hayden March 6, 1954 in Liverpool, England.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 daughters, Debra and husband Larry Melvin of Dearborn Heights, Denise Holcomb of Detroit, Dorothy (Mo) Close of Monroe; 2 sisters, Kathleen Fallon of Lake Orion, and Mary Ellen Brown of White Lake; 2 brothers, James Close and Patrick Close, both of Commerce Township; and 7 grandchildren.
Rites were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton chapel with the Rev. Father John W. Mullett officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the donor's favorite charity.
