Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Charles Clore Sr.

   Charles R. Clore Sr., 63,of 3845 Round Lake Rd., Gladwin, died suddenly Friday, Nov. 13, in Terrell, Texas. Born in Gladwin, Sept. 25, 1924, he had spent his lifetime here. Mr. Clore retired from Dow Chemical Co. in 1981. He was a veteran of World War II where he served with the 483 Military Police Escort Guard, was a life member of the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303, a member of the Gladwin Loyal Order of Moose 287 and the Gladwin F.O.E. 3292. He was a former union steward for the United Steele-workers Local 12075, a former Justice of the Peace for Sherman Township and a past member of the Gladwin County Board of Commissioners. Mr. Clore and the former Mary Vaughan were married June 18, 1949, in Flint.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Charles, Calvin and Clifford of Gladwin; one daughter, Peggy Pribbernow of Terrell, Texas; 4 brothers, Bill, Jim, George and Lloyd of Gladwin; 4 sisters, Freda Hannah of Birch Run, Elsie Velez of East Detroit and Mildred Fox of Gladwin; 5 grand-daughters. Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Joel Hurley officiated and burial was in the McClure Cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by the VFW Post. A memorial service was held Monday at 8 p.m. by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

CORRECTION


   In the obituary of Charles Clore Sr. last week, the name of a sister was unintentionally left out. The sister is Juanita Campbell of Gladwin. Also his son Clifford is from Alexandria, Ohio, and not Gladwin. Gladwin County Record dated 11-25/1987 Column - 3 Page - 2
