Cecil Cascaddan
CECIL EARL CASCADDAN (29 JAN 1909 - 30 JAN 1997) - New Addition Lot # 44.
   Cecil Earl Cascaddan, 88, of Sanford, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at the V.A. Medical Center in Ann Arbor. He was born Jan. 29, 1909, in Pontiac to the late Goldy and Leva (Molash) Cascaddan and served his country during World War II. He married the former Jennie Long on May 17, 1943, in Beaverton. Mr. Cascaddan was employed by Leon Dull Farm Store in Clare, and later was employed by the Michigan Bean Elevator in both Midland and Freeland until his retirement in 1974. Mr. Cascaddan and his wife, Jennie, delivered the Midland Buyers guide for the past 17 years.

   Surviving besides his wife, Jennie, are his daughter, Mary Smith, and her husband, Douglas, of Bay City; four grandchildren, Coral, Holly, Douglas Jr. and Troy Smith; and one great grandchild, Jennifer Mae Breanne Smith. Also surviving are three brothers and one sister, Marvin Cascaddan of Lansing, Fred Cascaddan of Evart, Carson Cascaddan of Gladwin and Mary Harvey of North Adams; several nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Ethel Cascaddan of North Carolina.

   Mr. Cascaddan was predeceased by a daughter, Coral June Cascaddan, and three brothers and three sisters, Robert, Clarence and Charlie Cascaddan, Elsie Bonham, Lillie Allour and Melinda Markell. Funeral and committal services with military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. in Midland. The Rev. Arthur "Junior" Munger will officiate, with burial later in the Beaverton City Cemetery. Mr. Cascaddan's family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday from and 9 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
