Jack Carter
Jack D. Carter, 81, of Gladwin passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at the MidMichigan Gladwin Pines.
He was born Aug. 30, 1926 in Flint to Bruner and Nannie (Huffman) Carter.
Jack served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II; he was stationed in France and Germany. Jack achieved the rank of sergeant and received the Purple Heart.
Jack worked as the sound and lighting engineer for the Flint IMA Auditorium. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
He married the former Sandy Perria on Dec. 15, 1995 in Gladwin. Surviving are two sons, Bruce (Debbi) Carter of Jacksonville, Florida and Marc (Lauren) Carter of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Sheilah (Chris) Combs of Hudson, Florida; two sisters, Clara Brodie and Thelma Carter of Flint; three brothers, Leonard (Sally) Carter of Flint, Lloyd Carter of Cadillac and Sam (Judy) Chapman of Flushing; 15 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren; stepchildren Tom and Jodi Perria of Colorado, Angie and Dave West of Clio and Matt Perria of Gladwin.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at the Gladwin Eagles Hall. Sisson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
