Beatrice Carper
Beatrice Carper, 71, of 750 W. Sun Oil Rd., Gladwin, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1912, in Dry Branch, W. Va. and came to Gladwin County in 1937.
The former Beatrice Adkins, she was married to Cullie Carper on February 16, 1928, in Comfort,
W. Va. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Delores) Cleveland of Oklahoma and Mrs. Kenneth
(Gloria) Doane of Beaverton; 5 sons, Garland, James, William and Herbert of Gladwin and Cullie Jr. of
Detroit; 6 sisters, Oma Smith of Bell, W. Va., Martha Smith, Lois McCartney and Ruthie Adkins of Dry
Branch, W. Va. And Eunice Hudson of Mineral Wells, W. Va.; one brother, Hershel Adkins of Glen Daniels, W.
Va.; 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. Norman Schroeder
officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery.
