Leonara Carpenter
Leonara A. Carpenter, 3057 S. Eugene Street, age 76, died Tuesday, April 22, 1952, at Goodrich Hospital. Prayer services will be held at 7 PM Thursday, April 24, 1952, from Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel, Garland at Third Ave., Rev. Gaylord Skinner officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan. Mrs. Carpenter will lie in state at Groves & Co. Memorial Chapel until 7 o'clock Thursday evening, then will be taken to the Hall Funeral Home at Gladwin, Mich., where services will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 25, from the Riley Evangelical United Brethren Church. Death was due to complications after an illness of 1 week. She was born in Sanilac County, Michigan, March 18, 1876, daughter of Edward and Nancy Woodard, and lived in Flint for the last 10 years, coming here from Gladwin, Mich. Mrs. Carpenter was the wife of the late C. Ira Carpenter. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Harry Kritzmire, of San Antonio, Texas, and Mrs. Floyd Phillips of Davison, Mich; 2 sons, Glenn Carpenter of Flint and Charles Carpenter of Birch Run, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Emily Bradley of Boyne City, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.
