Wayne D. Carbeno
On Feb. 4, 2005, with his family by his side, Wayne D. Carbeno passed away quietly at home. Wayne was born Feb. 2, 1921 to Charles and Eva Carbeno in Gladwin. On Sept. 25, 1940 he married Marion Gooden. He worked as a blacksmith at his father’s shop before going to Dow Chemical where he was employed for 36 years. He served in World War II under General Patton’s 3rd Army. Loving animals and trees, he moved to a small farm where he taught his children how to plant and harvest, hunt and fish.
Besides his wife, Marion, he leaves two daughters, Mary Lou Muma of Gladwin, and Carol (Charles) Waldron of Harrison; three sons, C. Wayne (Maxine) Carbeno of Coleman, Dennis (Deborah) Carbeno of Gladwin, and David Carbeno of Beaverton; and 12 grandchildren, 15 Great grandchildren and one Great great grandson. Preceding him in death were one daughter, three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
