Clair Campbell
Clair E. Campbell, 60, 5648 Parker Rd., Gladwin, died Saturday, Oct. 18, in
the Midland Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year. Born i Grout Township on
October 18, 1916, he was the son of Roy and Mabel Roberts Campbell and attended Gladwin County
schools. He was a farmer in Grout Township all his life and was well-known as a custom farmer
for other farmers.
Mr. Campbell and the former Gertrude Fackler were married in Gladwin on June 25,
1939. He was a charter member of the McClure Wesleyan Holiness Church. Surviving are his wife
Gertrude; 2 sons, Luren of Breckenridge, and Robert of Ashley; 4 brothers, Earl of Flint, Grover
of Fort Myers, Fla., Gerald of Naples, Fla., and Alvin of London, England; 3 sisters, Mrs. Valda Shelar
and Mrs. Nina Reppert both of Spring Arbor, and Mrs. Warren (Donna) Pike of Palm Beach Gardens,
Fla., and 8 grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Avery
officiating. Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
