Maynard A. Calhoon

MAYNARD A. CALHOON


  Maynard A. Calhoon, 58, of 220 East Brown St., Beaverton died Friday, Nov. 26, in the Midland Hospital Center following an illness of five months. Born in Irene, S. D., on November 10, 1918, he came to Gladwin County 31 years ago from Detroit.

  Mr Calhoon was a member of the Beaverton Rural Schools board of education for 17 years and a member of the Clare-Gladwin intermediate School District board. He was a veteran of World War II and was employed as a pipe coverer for Dow Corning. He and the former Lois C. Killian were married on July 19, 1941, in Charlotte.

  Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Hugh and James, both of Beaverton; one daughter, Tena Marie Calhoon of Beaverton; and four grandchildren. Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Fr. Robert Davey officiated and burial was in the Beaverton Cemetery..
