William Caldwell

   William Henry Caldwell, 47, of Sault Ste. Marie, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 in Burton.

   He was born Oct. 10, 1958 in Sault Ste. Marie to Wesley Paul and Mary Eileen (Sherman) Caldwell. Bill grew up in Grand Blanc and graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1977. He married Rae Ann Morrish on July 8, 1978 in Flint. Bill worked construction while they lived in the Flint area until 1989 and in Gladwin until 2000, when they moved to Sault Ste. Marie. He worked at Ideal Homes, Clement’s House and Building Movers, and in the maintenance department at Bay Mills Resort and Casino. Bill loved to sing, especially for the Lord. He often sang in church and at church related events. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and working with his hands, building and repairing many types of things. Most of all, Bill loved his family.

   Bill is survived by his wife, Rae Ann; six daughters, Michelle (James) Salmon of Sault Ste. Marie, Rachel Caldwell of Gladwin, Amanda Caldwell of Gladwin, and Sarah Caldwell, Ashley Caldwell, Christina Caldwell, all of Sault Ste. Marie; two sons, Michael Caldwell of Flint and William Paul Caldwell of Sault Ste. Marie; four grandchildren, Madison Salmon, Seth Caldwell, Damian Peltier and William Wesley Caldwell; his mother and step-father, Mary and Joe Clement of Pickford; three sisters, Judy Caldwell of Kalamazoo, Ruth Caldwell of Flint, and Janice (Richard) Harkless of Sault Ste. Marie; two brothers, Rev. Allen (Becky) Caldwell of Paxton, Illinois, and Paul (Kathy) Caldwell of Crescent City, Illinois; and four stepbrothers, Terry (Mary) Clement, Vern (Patty) Clement, Wayne (Rose) Clement and Martin (Eileen) Clement, all of Dafter.

   Bill was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Paul Caldwell in 1996, and by his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Clara Morrish, both in 2005.

   Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at Reamer Galer Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Weihman officiating, assisted by Bill’s brothers, Rev. Allen Caldwell and Paul Caldwell. Spring burial will be at Donaldson Cemetery in Bruce Township, Michigan. Serving as pallbearers were Jeffrey Gill, Curtis Caldwell, Richard Harkless, Jacob Caldwell, Dan Teeple and David Petherbrige.
