Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Iris Bushong

   Iris M. Bushong, 70, of Gladwin, formerly of West Bloomfield, Detroit, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at her home. Iris was born on Jan. 6, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of Fred and Gertrude (Latulippe) Voelker. She was united in marriage to Gordon Bushong on June 25, 1955 at St. James Catholic Church in Ferndale.

   Iris enjoyed cooking, gardening, puzzles, reading and crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Iris is survived by her loving husband, Gordon; four sons, Michael (Wilda) of Harrison, Gordon, Jr. (Keeley) of Bay City, Jeffrey (Robin) of Redford Township, and Ronald (Jeri) of Harrison; one daughter, Elise (Steven) Preston of Navarre, Florida; one brother, Fredrick, Jr. (Cindy) Voelker of Conroe, Texas; one sister, Sharon (Theodore) Janish of Richmond; 12 grandchildren and five Great-grandchildren. Iris was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bernard Voelker.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Harrison with Father Noel Rudy officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 3-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery in Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Bushong may be considered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund, 4005 Orchard Dr., Suite 1012A, Midland, MI 48670.
