Alfred Burmeister

ILLNESS FATAL TO ALFRED BURMEISTER

   Funeral services were held Saturday for Alfred T. Burmeister, 73, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, following an illness of 10 days. Born in Detroit, Mar. 25, 1894, Mr. Burmeister came to Gladwin County in 1935 and farmed in Sage Township. He was a veteran of World War II. He and the former Miss Erna Zessau were married in Detroit June 27, 1922, and she preceded him in death July 7, 1962.

   Survivors include a son, Leonard, of Gladwin; two daughters, Marion of Gladwin; Mrs. Henry Polzien (Doris) of Gladwin; two brothers, Harold and Ervin, both of Gladwin; one sister, Mrs. Mable Sersaw; of Gladwin; and one grandchild.

   Services were held at the Hall Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ernst G. Mueller officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery.
