Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Leona Burley

   Leona (Lee) Burley, 85, formerly of Gladwin, Utica, and Center Line, died June 12, 2006 at Abbey Nursing Home in Warren. She was born Leona Clara Stadwick on June 13, 1920 in Center Line, the daughter of the late Leo and Antoinette Stadwick. She was raised in Center Line and lived most of her adult life in Utica.

   She married Eric Burley on April 3, 1948. The two retired to the Gladwin area. Leona is survived by her children, Andrew “Russ” (Linnia) Burley, Richard (Linda) Armour, Sharon Moore, Robert Burley, Eric Burley and Cheryl Wirick; numerous grandchildren and Great-grandchildren; and also a dear and close friend who was by her side every day until the end, Fred Hornfischer. She was preceded in death by her husband and numerous brothers and sisters. If you ask anyone who knew her, they would tell you that she was a loving, caring person. She put everyone else’s needs above her own.

   The family will have a private memorial service. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren. Memorial donations appreciated to In-House Hospice, 24293 Telegraph Rd., Suite 102, Southfield, MI 48034.
