Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Ronald Brubaker

   Ronald “R.C.” Brubaker, 71, of Beaverton passed away at his home April 6, 2008 following a long illness.

   He was born in Gladwin Sept. 3, 1936 to Curtis and Margaret (Gruss) Brubaker. Ron married Beatrice “Bea” Hale Sept. 11, 1965 in Gladwin. He was employed as an assembler for Brown Machine, retiring in 1998 after 32 years.

   He served his country in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County.

   Ron graduated from Beaverton High School in 1954, then began working at Robinson Industries. He left there to join the military and serve his country. After returning from the military, he began working at Brown Machine, which he retired from after 32 years of service in 1998. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, co-founder of the Wolverine Hunting Club, member of Knights of Columbus #5280, and an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He had a great love for country music and the outdoors; he especially enjoyed working with wood.

   He is survived by his wife, Bea Brubaker of Beaverton; one son, Flent (Elysbeth) Brubaker of Beaverton; three granddaughters, Faithann, Miranda and Jennifer; six sisters, Annalee Shea of Gladwin, Dorothy Rellinger of Gladwin, Donna Murphy of Midland, Glenna (Elroy) Hitchcock of Beaverton, Betty (Herman) Wright of Gladwin and Lucille (Gil) Lyons of Clare; one brother, Paul (Eileen) Brubaker of Gladwin; one sister- in-law, Elaine Brubaker of Beaverton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Harold Brubaker.

   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin with Rev. Father John Cotter officiating. Visitation will be held today, April 9, 2008 from noon to 8 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Gladwin.

   Memorial contributions will be used according to the wishes of the family.
