Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Clarence Brown

   Clarence W. Brown, 95, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at MidMichigan Gladwin Pines following a brief illness.

   He was born on Feb. 16, 1912 in Gladwin to the late Elbert and Hanna (Emerick) Brown.

   He married the former Alna Breault on Sept. 26, 1936 Clarence was retired from the oil fields and farming. He loved to ride motorcycles and rode until he was 86- years-old. He liked to cut wood and trim trees, not only for firewood, but also for the enjoyment it gave him.

   Surviving are his wife, Alna; two daughters, Wanda (Gerald) Oard and Lorna Brown, both of Gladwin; two grandchildren, Gary and Melody Oard, and Julie and Mike Shearer; seven greatgrandchildren, Jessica (Justin) Johnson, Rebecca, Benjamin and Jacob Shearer and Brooke, Faith, and Rafe Oard; one great-great grandchild, Tori Johnson; and several brothers- and sisters-inlaw He was predeceased by three brothers, Vergil, Harold and Dallas; three sisters, Goldie Elwood, Meta Perry and Norma Hoskinson; and a granddaughter-in-law, Lucy Oard.

   Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Sisson Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Chappell presiding with burial in McClure Cemetery.

   The family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of Gladwin Area or the Gladwin First United Methodist Church. Sisson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
