Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Clarence Otto Brokoff

(14 APRIL 1926 - 27 DEC 1998)

   Clarence O. Brokoff, 72, of Gladwin died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at the Gladwin Living Centre following a short illness. Clarence was born April 14, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio. He married the former Ruth Brunni May 25, 1945, in Portsmouth, Va. He worked for The Dow Chemical Company as an operator, in the Saran Department where he retired in 1982 after 35 1/2 years of service. Since then he has been associated with the Hall Funeral Home from 1982 until 1998.

   He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. Mr. Brokoff lived his lifetime residing in Gladwin. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin, American Legion Post #171 of Gladwin and was on the Gladwin County Board of Commissioners (1968-1986).

   He is survived by his wife, Ruth Brokoff of Gladwin; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn R. and Thomas Hall of Gladwin; granddaughters, Denise and Shawn Windy of Hemlock and Jennifer and Troy Gary of Gladwin; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Brokoff in 1993, and one brother and one sister, as infants.

   Funeral services will take place Thursday Dec. 31, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin, the Rev. Timothy Verity will officiate with burial in Highland Cemetery in Gladwin. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until 9 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 440 E. Cedar Ave., Gladwin, MI 48624. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
