Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
James Brewer

   James (J.D.) Brewer, 80, of Gladwin, died Nov. 14, 2005 at home after being ill for a year.
   He was born May 30, 1925 in Mark Tree, Arkansas. He married the former Donna Jean Loar in Ortonville, Michigan on July 26, 1947. He was a cement mason at Local 7 of Saginaw, retiring in 1982 after 57 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He lived in Gladwin County 52 years, having previously resided in Pontiac. He was a member of Local 7 Bricklayers and Masons.

   Surviving him are his wife, Donna Brewer of Gladwin; his children, Debbie (Mike) Illig of Gladwin, Paula (Chuck) Marrs of Kalkaska, James Rick (Deb) Brewer of Prudenville, Vicki (Bill) Forgie of Lewisburg, Tennessee, James Kerry (Patty) Brewer of Beaverton, and Karen (Jim) Shea of Gladwin; grandsons, Jason, Corey, Joshua, Daniel, Trevor and Micah; granddaughters, Dayna, Carrie, Ami and Jessica; Great granddaughters, Caitlin, Brianna, Mallerie and Macy; Great grandsons, Seth, Gibson and Kobie; two sisters, Faye McDowell of Waterford and Mabel Stewart of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Brewer of Macon, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Pauline Cole and Alliera Garcia; one brother, James Louis Brewer; one grandson, Micah Marrs; and one Great granddaughter, Christina Pratt.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor Duane Koontz officiating. Burial will take place at Arthur Township Cemetery, Gladwin. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6-9 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pardee Cancer Foundation, Mid Michigan Hospice, and Church of Daniels Band-Beaverton.
