Billie Bracken
Billie Jean Bracken, 76, of Gladwin, formerly of Flint, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at MidMichigan Medical Center- Gladwin.
Billie was born in Rector, Arkansas on Oct. 17, 1929 and raised in Kennett, Missouri, the daughter of Bill and Ola (Glenn) Wheeler. She married Kenny Bracken on Sept. 19, 1956 in Piggott, Arkansas.
Billie was executive housekeeper of the Sheraton Motor Inn for 10 years, retiring in 1984.
Surviving are her pride and joy, her children, Dannye Jean Wagner of Cadiz, Kentucky, Debra Jo (Charles) Hubbard, Kimberley Kaye Bracken, all of Burton, Keith "Bubba" Bracken of Flint, Kellye Glenn Bracken of Burton, Kenny, Jr. (Doreen) Bracken of Spring City, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and very special friends, Elizabeth Misiak, Betty and Jack Beckwith, Carol Olds Dreasky, the late Barb Opyt, and Tootsie and Don Kinner and the crew at Dialysis in Flint, 2222 Linden Rd.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenny Bracken, on April 8, 1993; her parents and sister, Jetta Jo Bay.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint. Pastor Keith McKinnies officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
