William Bowers
SERVICES HELD FOR WILLIAM BOWERS
William L. Bowers, 80, of Butman Township, died Sunday in the Gladwin Hospital
following a short illness. Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. Elder
Charles Twining officiated and burial was in Butman Cemetery. Born in Defiance, Ohio, on April 15,
1886, he was a retired farmer and telephone line repairman for the Gladwin and Nolan line.
Mr. Bowers came to Gladwin County 65 years ago from Ohio. He was married to the
former Maude DeLaurier in Gladwin on Dec. 11, 1907. Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters,
Mrs. Beatrice Benmark, Mrs. Pearl Myers, Mrs. Evaleeen Walters and Mrs. Lula Belle Walters, all of
Gladwin; one son, Max of Gladwin; 24 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.
