Donald C. Bower
Donald C. Bower, 66, of Beaverton, died Saturday,
Feb. 2, 2002 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland
following a short illness. Born Aug. 8, 1935 in
Midland, he was the son of Carl and Alice (Fritz)
Bower. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County.
Donald married Joyce (Sian), Dec. 19, 1953 in Sanford.
He worked as an engineer for The Dow Chemical Company
in Midland, retiring in 1987 after 20 years. He was a
member of the Albright Shores Eagles Aerie 3655.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Steven
and wife Susan Bower of Coleman; one daughter, Lori
and husband Mark Doud of Beaverton; six grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty and
husband Harlan Kidder of Maine and Virginia and
husband Robin Bard of Beaverton; and several nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents;
one daughter, Debra Myers; one sister, Bonnie Hammond;
and one brother, Clair Hammond.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb.
4 at the Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Pardee Cancer Fund.
Hall Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements..
