BESSIE BOWER


  Mrs. Bessie E. Bower, 85, of Winegars, died Monday, Nov. 29, in Midland following a long illness. Born in Yale on March 20, 1891, she had lived in Gladwin county 74 years. Mrs. Bower was a news correspondent for The Gladwin County Record for many years from the Highwood area. She was married to Peter S. Bower in 1908, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1974.

  Surviving are 3 sons, Carl and Floyd of Copemish and David of Suttons Bay; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Riley of Sanford; 18 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Two children preceded her in death.

  Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Robert Shoaff will officiate and burial will be in the Arbutus Cemetery..
