Joseph Bowen
Joseph V. Bowen, 60, of 1357 Weber Rd., Gladwin, died suddenly at his
home Thursday, Sept. 29. Born in Kentucky, Jan. 12, 1928, he moved to Gladwin County in
1984. Mr. Bowen was an engineer for Penn Central. He served in World War II and was a member
of the Harrison American Legion Post 404 and the Masonic Lodge Olive Branch 542 in Dearborn.
Surviving are one son, Jeffrey of Brighton; 3 daughters, Yvonne Lutman of Brighton, Peggy
Bowen of Kalamazoo and Dorothy Mueller of Pinckney; one brother Woodford of Kentucky; 4 sisters,
Emma Jean Rose of Ohio, Lorene Kettle of Marine City, Sandra Thornton of Kentucky and Vanessa
Hall of Georgia; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sherril.
Rites were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Ridge Cemetery by the American Legion Post 404. A
Masonic Memorial Service was held Monday at 11 a.m. by the Gladwin Lodge 397 at Sisson-Mathews
Funeral Home.
