Betty Bobbitt
Betty Bobbitt, 71, of Alger died June 29, 2005 at home. She was born in Flint on March 26, 1934 to Floyd and Bessie (Fornoff) Stanbaugh. She married Dale Bobbitt in Flint on March 5, 1955; he died in 2004. She was a homemaker and lived in Gladwin County 15 years, having previously resided in Flint. She spent the last 12 winters at Eagle Village in Bradenton, Florida. She was a member of the Flint Eagles Aerie 629 and transferred in 1963 to the Secord Lake Eagles Aerie 4121. She was Past Madam President. She loved to bowl. She is survived by her brother, Earl (Lue Elaine) Stanbaugh of Gladwin; sister-in-law, Eleanor Willis of Saginaw; sister- in-law, Thelma Coulson of Illinois; several nieces and nephews; special nieces Teresa (Jerry) Johnson and Ginnie (Earl) Herrmann; nephew Dave (Ann) Stanbaugh; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; two sisters, Edna Dean and Mary Ellen Hall ; and one brother, Ed Stanbaugh. A memorial service will be held July 10 at 1 p.m. at Secord Lake Eagles Club in Gladwin. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands in West Branch.
