Frederick Blank
Frederick C. Blank, 63, of Gladwin, passed away Sunday, April 3 at his home. Fred was born Oct. 1, 1941 in Gladwin to Carl and Doris (Hoffman) Blank. He graduated from Pinconning High School in 1961. Fred was a member of the Gladwin Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He married the former Helen Green Oct. 10, 1964 in Saginaw; they have lived in Gladwin the past three years. He worked as a dark room technician for Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital and then volunteered at the Saginaw Veterans Hospital for seven years.
Although blind since age 19, Fred would tackle any challenge put before him. His ministry in music was a blessing to many. He always said, “I never walk alone. I always walk with Jesus.” Fred was not blind, he just couldn’t see with his eyes. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and son.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; one son, William Martin Blank of Florida; one daughter, Angela Hope Blank of Gladwin; his mother, Doris Blank of Gladwin; his mother-in-law, Helen Green of Saginaw; one brother, Ronald (Nancy) Blank of Davison; two sisters, Norma (William) Foor and Sharon (Matt) Kramer, both of Bentley; and several nieces and nephews. His father, Carl Blank, and his father-in-law, Emmit Green, predecease him.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at the Sisson Funeral Home. Pastor Darren Greenfield will officiate. Burial will be in McClure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gladwin Seventh- Day Adventist Church, Mid Michigan Hospice, or Hospice of Gladwin.
