Margaret Blakeslee
Margaret E. Blakeslee, 95, of Alger passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 at her home. She was born May 21, 1912 in Corry, Pennsylvania to Frank and Lura (Ecker) Crowell.
She graduated from Erie Business College and Edinboro State College with a teaching degree. After teaching several years she married Lyle Blakeslee on May 12, 1937 in Corry, Pennsylvania.
Lyle passed away in December 1978. After his death Margaret moved to Ohio and in 1981 to Michigan.
Surviving are three daughters, Lura (Thomas) Shuttlesworth of Leesburg Florida, Leah (Frank) Klassen of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and Beth (Paul) Klassen of Alger; one son-in-law, Gary Klassen of Gladwin; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by one daughter, Lenore Klassen; one granddaughter, Rhonda Klassen; one grandson, Frank Klassen III; and one brother, Francis Crowell. Services were held Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 at Sisson Funeral Home. Pastors Paul and Frank Klassen officiated. Burial was made in Corry, Pennsylvania. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or Oak Grove Log Church.
