William Blades
William Blades, 79, of Beaverton, died Monday, March 10, 1997 at MidMichigan
Regional Medical Center-Midland after a short illness. Born March 14, 1917 in Billings Township,
he lived in Gladwin his entire life. He worked for Benchley and Yager in Beaverton, retiring in 1979.
William married the former Mildred Wuelfing Dec. 2, 1939. Besides his wife he is survived by two
daughters, Wilma and husband Ronald Maxwell and Florence, and husband Ray Peterson, all of Beaverton;
one son, Forest and wife Lynn of Palatka, Fla.; two sisters, Lois Schaard of Gladwin and Grace Farrow
of Lake; two brothers, Shirley and Duane of Beaverton; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Walters in 1985; two grandsons, Ronnie Maxwell in 1988
and Jimmy Walters in 1990; two sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel, with
the Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Burial will be in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
Friends may call at the funeral home, 430 S. Ross, Beaverton, tomorrow (Thursday) until the time of
the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to be used accordng
to the family.
