George T. Blades
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at the Dale Methodist
church for George T. Blades, 65, of Beaverton, who passed away Nov. 26, after an illness of one year.
Mr. Blades was born March 21, 1890, in Livingston county. He came to Gladwin county with his parents
nearly 50 years ago and had operated a farm in Tobacco township since. He married the former Miss Elva
Reed at Beaverton June 29, 1913.
Survivors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Velva Cornell, Britton, Mrs. Violet
Rangler of Tecumseh and Mrs. Grace Armstrong of Beaverton; five sons, Kenneth, William, Forest and
Shirley all of Beaverton and Duane at home; 22 grandchildren; two brothers, Earl and Dewey of Beaverton;
two sisters, Mrs. Ella Denison of Williamston and Mrs. Grace Crowell of Beaverton. One son, Warren,
preceded him in death.
The Rev. George Huber, of Midland, assisted by the Rev. Larry Grubaugh, of Beaverton,
officiated. Burial was in the Dale cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Woodruff, George and Jess Wagner,
Horace Van Schaick, Floyd Whitman and Charles Kinyon.
